Jojo – Welcomed into Heaven 12.25.2012
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
How bless-ed that JoJo’s Heavenly Father (and as the scriptures say in Isaiah 54:5), her husband would call her home on the most sacred day of the year, the day of our Savior’s birth.
May the Love of our Lord Jesus surround you and comfort all who loved Jo Jo this day and always. May Jesus collect all your tears in his bottle (Psalm 56:8) as your mourn and say good-bye to your beloved JoJo.
“This painting is a result of an inspiration following a sermon the artist heard his pastor give. The sermon was on the immeasurable love of God. He illustrated the sermon with Psalm 56:8 and the character of Jesus Christ. Dan’s pastor stated it is very comforting to know and realize that while God records all our tears, he forgets our sins.
“The white gown and antique pitcher symbolize how Christ’s finished work on the cross washes us of our sins leaving us white as snow. The decorative bottle is the record of our tears. The position of the flowers in the painting frames the composition and forms the cross.” — Dan Gerhartz
